  I've just been reading the letter Confession wrote to his mother. I noticed the following quote:

  “The first essential for study is the right condition of mind and heart, appreciating that Jehovah grants understanding only to the meek, and not to the stiff-necked. If we have love for Jehovah and for the organization of his people we shall not be suspicious, but shall, as the Bible says, 'believe all things,' all the things that The Watchtower brings out…” [Qualified, 1955, page 156]

  Where is this quote from? I'd like to see if in context. The WTLib only has books going back as far as 1971 so I'm at a bit of a loss.

  My sister called! I've written her a letter...

  i was working in corpus christi this past weekend, when my sister called out of the blue on sunday.

  she, like the rest of my family, is a very zealous jw, and since i am recognized as an apostate, i haven't seen nor spoken to her in about four years.

  i was completely shocked that she called.

  Usually I skim read the longer posts but I just had to read this slowly and in its entirety. What a concise, easily-understand, non-thought-stopping letter. Amazingly well written. Well done!

  Ironing - without a doubt! I'll only do it if I can watch tv at the same time! Once our tv wasn't working properly for a few weeks. You should have seen the pile of ironing I had by the time it was working again! LOL

  Thanks for the analysis Mary. Have to say, they really have ramped things up with the public/jw-only WTs now. Madness!

  I hope I get the oppurtunity to share some of the points you made with some of the few dubs that still converse with me.
